Common questions

What is a pin?
On the Free plan you get 5 pins a week. Each new place you hear uses one pin. Your 5 free pins reset every Monday at 00:00 UTC. Premium has no weekly pin cap.

Do replays use a pin?
No. Places you've already heard can be replayed from History or Saved without using a pin.

Do I need an account?
You can look around the map without one. To hear stories, create a free account with your email or Google.

Why does the narration sound like my phone?
On Free, your first 3 narrations use a Google Cloud voice (once per account, shared between laqao.online and the Laqao app). After that, Free narrations use your device's own voice. Replaying a narration you've already heard doesn't count toward the 3. Premium narrations use Google Cloud voices, within a fair-use limit. If you reach that limit, narration keeps playing in your device's voice.

How do I cancel Premium?
Trip lasts 7 days and does not renew, so there is nothing to cancel. Monthly and Yearly renew automatically. To cancel, email us from your account email. We process cancellation requests within 2 business days (Philippine time) and email you to confirm. If your request reaches us before your renewal date and a renewal charge still goes through while we process it, we'll refund that charge. You keep Premium until the end of the period you paid for. Is the narration always right?
No. Narrations are written by AI and can contain mistakes. Legends are told as legends. Please check opening hours and safety information locally.

How do I report a narration?
On the Speak sheet, or on a replay in your History, tap Report, pick a reason and tap Send report. You can also email us with the place name.

Does Laqao track my location?
Only while you use it. Location centers the map on you. If you use Center on me to pick a place to hear, your position is sent to our server as the spot to narrate. Laqao doesn't record your path. Follow me keeps the map moving with you while a story plays. You can use the map without location. See our Privacy Policy for details.

How do I delete my trips or photos?
Go to Profile and tap Clear all history. It removes the places you've heard, the photos you added and any trips you recorded earlier. Deleting your account also deletes everything.
