Laqao Terms of Use

1. Agreement

These terms cover your use of Laqao on laqao.online (the "Service"). Laqao is operated by Lopaso Holdings, LLC ("we", "us"), c/o Legalinc Corporate Services Inc., 131 Continental Dr, Suite 305, Newark, DE 19713, United States.

By creating an account or using Laqao, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy at https://laqao.online/privacy. If you do not agree, please do not use Laqao.

2. The Service

Laqao is an audio travel guide. You tap a place on an OpenStreetMap map, tap Speak, and hear a narration about it written by AI. You can look around the map without an account. You need an account to hear stories.

We may change, add or remove features over time.

3. Your account

  • You can sign up with email and password, or with Google.
  • Give accurate information and keep your sign-in details safe. You are responsible for what happens under your account.
  • You must be at least 16 to create an account or use Laqao. If you're under 18 (or the age of majority where you live), a parent or guardian must agree to these terms for you before you buy Premium.
  • One person per account.

4. AI narrations

  • Narrations are written by AI from public information about a place. They can contain mistakes, be out of date, or leave things out.
  • Legends and local stories are told as legends, not as fact.
  • Don't rely on a narration for opening hours, prices, directions, access or safety. Check them locally.
  • Narrations are for general information and entertainment. They are not professional, historical, legal or safety advice.
  • Not for navigation or safety. Laqao is not a navigation, emergency or safety service. Narrations and map information may be inaccurate, out of date, or about the wrong place. Don't use Laqao to decide where it is safe or permitted to go, and don't use it in a way that distracts you while driving, cycling or crossing roads. In an emergency, contact local emergency services.
  • If a narration is offensive or wrong, tap Report on the Speak sheet or on a replay in your History to let us know, or email us.

5. Free and Premium

Free includes:

  • 5 pins a week. Each new place you hear uses one pin. Places you've already heard can be replayed from History or Saved without using a pin.
  • Your first 3 narrations are read in a Google Cloud voice (once per account, shared between laqao.online and the Laqao app), then in your device's voice. Replaying a narration you've already heard doesn't count.
  • Up to 3 photos for each place in a trip.
  • History shows trips from the last 7 days.

Premium includes:

  • Narration in Google Cloud voices, within a fair-use limit (see section 7).
  • No weekly pin cap.
  • Up to 100 photos per trip.

Limits and features may change. The website always shows the current ones.

6. Payments and subscriptions

  • Premium on laqao.online is sold through Stripe. Prices are shown before you pay. Taxes may apply.
  • Trip gives you 7 days of Premium for a one-time payment. It does not renew.
  • Monthly and Yearly are subscriptions. They renew automatically at the end of each period, and you are charged again, until you cancel.
  • When Premium ends, your account goes back to Free. Your History, Saved places and photos stay. On Free, History shows trips from the last 7 days; older trips are hidden, not deleted.

Refunds and cancellation

Monthly and Yearly. You can cancel anytime by emailing support@laqao.online from your account email. We process cancellation requests within 2 business days (Philippine time) and email you to confirm. Your plan stays active until the end of the period you've paid for, and it won't renew. If you delete your account instead, your plan ends right away and isn't refunded (see section 11). We don't refund part-used periods, except as set out below.

Trip pass (7 days). A Trip pass starts as soon as you buy it and isn't refundable once it has started, except as set out below.

Mistakes. If you were charged twice or charged by mistake, email support@laqao.online and we'll refund the charge. If your cancellation request reaches us before your renewal date and a renewal charge still goes through while we process it, we'll refund that charge.

Your legal rights. Nothing here limits the rights you have under the consumer law of the country where you live.

7. Fair use of Premium voices

Premium Google Cloud voices have a fair-use limit on how many new voice clips each account can create in a set period. Today that limit is 200 new voice clips per account in any 24-hour period. Clips that already exist, and replays, do not count. If you reach the limit, narration keeps working in your device's voice. We may also limit how many narrations an account can request per day to prevent abuse. Premium is not "unlimited".

8. Acceptable use

Do not:

  • use Laqao for anything illegal, harmful or deceptive;
  • try to get around pin limits, fair-use limits, payments, sign-in or security;
  • scrape, copy in bulk or resell narrations, or use automated tools to call the Service;
  • overload, attack or reverse engineer the Service;
  • upload photos that you don't have the right to share, or that are illegal or infringe other people's rights;
  • use Laqao in a way that puts you or others in danger, for example while driving;
  • pretend to be us or to be connected with us.

We may limit, suspend or close accounts that break these rules.

9. Your photos and our content

  • Your photos stay yours. You give us permission to store, process and show them to you only so we can run the Service.
  • Narrations and the website belong to us or our licensors. You may listen to narrations and share links to places for personal, non-commercial use.
  • If you send us feedback, we may use it to improve Laqao without owing you anything.

10. Third-party services and map data

Laqao uses services from other companies, including Google Firebase and Google Cloud, OpenAI, OpenStreetMap and Stripe. Map data is © OpenStreetMap contributors. These services have their own terms, and if they have outages or change, Laqao may be affected. When you pay, Stripe's terms also apply.

11. Ending your use

  • You can stop using Laqao at any time and delete your account (see https://laqao.online/delete-account). If you have a Monthly or Yearly subscription on the website, deleting your account cancels it right away, so you won't be charged again, and any active Trip pass ends. Deleting your account doesn't refund any payment.
  • We may suspend or close your account if you break these terms, if the law requires it, or if we stop offering Laqao. If we stop offering Laqao, we will try to give you reasonable notice.
  • Sections 4, 9, 13, 14, 15 and 17 continue to apply after your account ends.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. We will post the new version here and change the effective date. If a change is significant, we will also tell you on the website. If you keep using Laqao after a change takes effect, you accept the new terms.

13. Disclaimers

Not for navigation or safety. Laqao is not a navigation, emergency or safety service. Narrations and map information may be inaccurate, out of date, or about the wrong place. Don't use Laqao to decide where it is safe or permitted to go, and don't use it in a way that distracts you while driving, cycling or crossing roads. In an emergency, contact local emergency services.

LAQAO IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE". TO THE EXTENT THE LAW ALLOWS, WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT PROMISE THAT NARRATIONS ARE ACCURATE OR COMPLETE, OR THAT THE SERVICE WILL ALWAYS BE AVAILABLE OR FREE OF ERRORS. AI NARRATIONS ARE GENERATED AUTOMATICALLY AND MAY BE INACCURATE, INCOMPLETE OR OFFENSIVE; THEY DO NOT REFLECT OUR VIEWS.

14. Limitation of liability

TO THE EXTENT THE LAW ALLOWS: (A) LOPASO HOLDINGS, LLC WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR LOST PROFITS, REVENUE OR OPPORTUNITIES; AND (B) OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS RELATING TO LAQAO IS LIMITED TO THE GREATER OF THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US FOR LAQAO IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM, OR US$50.

These limits do not apply to liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, gross negligence or wilful misconduct, or to any liability that cannot be limited under the law that applies to you, including your statutory rights as a consumer.

15. Indemnity

If you use Laqao in breach of these terms or the law, or upload photos you don't have the right to share, and a third party makes a claim against us because of it, you agree to compensate us for the reasonable losses and costs we incur as a result, to the extent the law allows. This doesn't apply to the extent the claim was caused by our own fault. If you use Laqao as a consumer, this section applies only as far as the consumer law of your country permits.

16. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware and applicable U.S. federal law, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. Disputes will be heard in the state or federal courts located in New Castle County, Delaware, unless the paragraph below applies.

If you use Laqao as a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live, including (for example) the Philippine Consumer Act (RA 7394), the Philippine Internet Transactions Act (RA 11967) and the Data Privacy Act of 2012, and you may bring a claim in the courts of the country where you live. Nothing in these terms requires consumers to arbitrate or gives up the right to join a class or group action where the law gives you that right. Before bringing a claim, please contact us so we can try to resolve it.
